Students in Hope Scholars are selected after exhibiting exceptional reading and comprehension skills. These students will be competing in this year’s Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl in March 2010. Students will be required to read (15) books from the Georgia Children’s Book Award Nominee list. Hope Scholars will provide students with the opportunity to : increase standardized test scores, develop an appreciation for literature, enhance verbal communication skills, promote cooperation, build self-esteem, develop team spirit and improve academic achievement.
